Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Health Professions invite applications for a full-time, twelve-month faculty member with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning as the Education Coordinator of the Master of Medical Science in Pathologists’ Assistant Program. Anderson University recognizes three paths for status in faculty employment: Annual Appointment, Professional Path, and Tenure-Track. Annual Appointed faculty are hired as Instructors focused on teaching and learning. Faculty hired in the Professional Path focus on teaching, learning and service. After six years of exemplary performance, they may promote through faculty ranks and may become eligible for multi-year contracts. Tenure-Track faculty focus on teaching and learning, service; and scholarship as well. After six years of exemplary performance, Tenure-Track faculty earn tenure and may promote through faculty ranks. All three paths are evaluated for mission fit.
Candidates should be prepared to:
-Assist in ensuring compliance with National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Program Standards, policies and guidelines.
-Review, develop, evaluate and teach course offerings for a full range of master level courses with a focus specific to the Pathology Assistant program. The assigned teaching load is 24 semester credits per academic year and includes advising program students.
– Promote the effectiveness and quality of instruction, be responsible for evaluation of the department faculty, and promote an effective integration of curriculum within the department.
-Review student applications, conducts interviews with applicants and communicate with applicants regarding the process, standards and outcomes of the application process
– Oversees the coordination of the clinical program, including scheduling with clinical instructors during the orientation process, determining student sites, and evaluation of clinical site.
-Assures that clinical didactic evaluations of students are conducted.
-Obtains and maintains a sufficient number of clinical contracts with a variety of health care settings to provide adequate selection of clinical slots for every clinical course required by the Pathologists’ Assistant program.
-Communicates directly with students to establish high quality clinical rotations and integrated curricular experiences.
-Establishes, communicates, and enforces the Pathologists’ Assistant Program clinical policies and procedures.
-Collaborates with clinical faculty to evaluate student performance and assures grades for all clinical education courses are obtained from our clinical affiliates.
-Assists with recruitment of highly qualified Pathologists’ Assistant students who represent diverse populations.
-Manages fiscal resources associated with the clinical education program, under the supervision of the Pathologists’ Assistant Program Director.
-Guides curriculum design, planning, scheduling, and outcome measures related to the clinical education component that promotes reflective reasoning, evidence-based practice, and ethical excellence.
-Guides strategic planning related to clinical education.
-Teaches or co-teaches in didactic courses related to his/her areas of expertise.
-Promotes and supports faculty and staff professional development, especially as it relates to clinical education.
-Promotes and participates in program involvement within the community.
-Represents the Pathologists’ Assistant program at community events and institutional meetings.
-Participates in collaborative and interprofessional education and service activities among faculty and students within the institution.
