Vacancy – Rail Civil Design Engineer

Location – Wakefield 

Salary – £40,000 – £45,000 + Benefits 

Our client is one of the leading engineering consultancies in the UK and are looking to take on a Rail Civil Design Engineer to support their design teams by delivering station and rail infrastructure projects. 

For this role you will receive appropriate training which will provide you with support for your professional development. 

Responsibilities 

• Rail, Station, Depot and Infra design 
• Checking and approval of designs and calculations
• Reporting progress to Clients 
• Support and encourage staff in their professional development
• Contribute to business development activities 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential 

• Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or above
• Working towards Membership of the relevant professional body 
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in a design office working on a variety of projects
• Good written English
• Good communication skills
• Good software skills for communication, reporting, calculations, and structural analysis
• Engaging in preparation of tenders, business promotion and general commercial
• Project Management 

Preferred

• Master’s degree in civil engineering
• Membership of a relevant professional body 
• MicroStation, ProjectWise, struct des soft
• Personal Track Safety (PTS)
• Driving license
