Job Type: Full-time / Permanent Position

Salary: $26.00 / hour Hours – 40hrs / Week

Location: Port Coquitlam – British Columbia

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Produce plans and specifications
• Ensure the technical monitoring of projects in collaboration with other designers and project managers.
• Act as technical support for the maintenance team.
• Provide feedback (post-mortem) on the project to main stakeholders
• Participate in the improvement of the existing processes
• Knowledge of automation and robotics to improve processes and the bottom line.
• Knowledge of 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines and mechanical component and ability to repair and maintain the engines
• Knowledge of Generators, brushless dc motors and alternator wiring.
• Knowledge composite materials and ability to conduct a design and work with composite materials
• Make recommendations and give considerations when estimating/quoting new products to customers or company leaders to have the best use of production timelines and equipment.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public group, and/or customers
• Plan and design layouts.
• Study new machinery and facilities and recommend or select efficient combinations,
• Design, develop and conduct time studies and work simplification programs,
• Develop performance standards, evaluation systems and wage and incentive programs,
• Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities and production or administrative systems,

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, with coursework in the manufacturing process
• 5+ years working experience in a similar role in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Experience with manufacturing processes involving high precision mechanical, electrical, electronics, or elector-mechanical assembly.
• Familiar with MS Excel and Word
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, reading of mechanical drawings.
• Experience in developing manufacturing floor plan layouts
• Experience in designing and working with CNC MILL and lathe machine and fixtures an asset
• Competent in reading engineering drawings with the ability to discern the merit of the drawings
• An expert in following disciplines:
• Precision composite manufacturing (fiber carbon – Fiber Kevlar – Fiber Glass)
• Identify and assist in throughput improvements, including designing and improving processes, assembly jigs, tools, and fixtures.
• Ability to provide feedback both orally and in writing
• You are bilingual with good abilities for oral and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure.
• Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments.
• Highly organized with critical attention to details
