Job Overview The Logistics Coordinator will be a part of the shipping and receiving team, able to execute all shipping activities and cross-function to receiving as needed.

Direct interface with customers, carriers, AMZ drivers and internal team members will be a constant need of this position to achieve our Mission of providing world class metal finishing services, ensuring delivery to our customers when they want it, where they want it and how they want it.

This role will be fast-paced with continuous interruption and change, needing the right applicant to possess excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

The Logistics Coordinator will strategically plan and manage truck routes, driver schedules, and inter-facility needs on a daily basis.

Strong phone skills and experience in positive negotiation are a must. Functions / Responsibilities Strategize and plan AMZ truck driver routes on a daily basis Schedule driver work hours on a weekly basis Prepare and execute daily shipments via AMZ, UPS, Fed-Ex, Common Carriers and others Evaluate multiple options for all shipping activities Coordinate internal material movement from warehouse receipts to production line staging, working directly with material handler Complete all required documents, internal and external, with the highest quality and zero defects Communicate via face or phone daily with scheduling, production and inter-facility teams to achieve daily shipping needs Notify customers of completed orders, confirming ship method Utilize AMZ internal database to track and verify all shipments Attend and participate in daily scheduling / production meeting(s) Manage all vehicle repair and inspection needs, to include material handling equipment Receive and identify incoming receipts from customers and carriers Manage and maintain inventory of shipping and receiving supplies Other Functions Operate forklift when needed Assemble job packets for receiving and contract review Mask parts Pack parts Tag or identify entered work with labeling and internal traveler Drop parts off at carrier locations as needed Enter new work into AMZ internal database List of Critical skills / behaviors / competencies Ability to prioritize workload effectively to achieve superior customer service Ability to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment with professional poise and demeanor Effective communication via 1) Face 2) Phone 3) Email to internal and external customers Excellent organization skills At a minimum, intermediate ability in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access Detail focused Team oriented Positive, professional attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Other Critical skills / behaviors / competencies Safety – Number ONE priority.
