We’re seeking a C# Back-End Developer that will contribute to our mission of working with our family of customers to provide the very best products and support, creating a successful long-term partnership.

The Software Engineer is a full-time position, based in AMTELCO’s Madison, WI office and works as a member of one or more software research and development teams. As a family-owned business, each team member is an extension of our family!

Our talented and dedicated Software Engineer will need to have proficiency in solving real-world data management challenges and is also responsible for:

· Working independently, and with the C# server application team, to design and develop back-end components of AMTELCO’s communications applications.

· Developing MS-SQL databases, windows services and web APIs.

· Have a strong understanding of how to architect solutions that are highly available

· Knowing how to design, develop and optimize the core back-end systems

· Maintaining up-to-date records of all software development activities in the department’s feature and defect tracking software

· Using the department’s source code control software to create and maintain discrete versions of all code produced

· Participating in code reviews with the server application development team members and with senior software engineers

· Conducting functionality, integrity, and security/unit testing on all code produced as a step in the software development process

· Assisting the Field Engineering Team in troubleshooting customer-reported issues.

· Maintaining a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success

· Good time-management skills

· Great interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate degree required, with an emphasis in high fault tolerance and distributed architecture development.

· A working knowledge of:

o Windows Server operating system required.

o Windows Service development practices required.

o Windows threading

o Asynchronous programming.

o T-SQL programming.

o SQL Server schema design.

o Inter process communication (web APIs and sockets)

o Good security practices.

o Ability to think analytically and apply programming knowledge to solve real world problems.

o Ability to troubleshoot problems and come up with solutions.

o Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical individuals about application design.

o Experience in an answering service or healthcare environment helpful.

· Authorized to work in the U.S. and in person at our corporate office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
