Amplify Education, Inc Hiring for Director, Math Curriculum, K-5 at Remote Full Time

The Director of Math Curriculum, K-5 will supervise the content development of Amplify’s Core Math print curriculum for pre-K (TK) and K-5 mathematics. The Director, Math Curriculum is responsible for the authoring and curriculum review of print curriculum for pre-K and K-5 mathematics! From brainstorming of lesson ideas and unit themes through proofing, production, and customization for all student and teacher edition printed components! This Director will supervise two Curriculum Managers (who in turn lead teams that write and review the different grade bands: K-2, 3-5). The Director, Math Curriculum, K-5 will report to the Executive Director, Math Curriculum, K-12.

Responsibilities:
Supervise the Curriculum Managers, who are responsible for content writing across grade bands (K-2, 3-5).

Meet on a weekly basis with Curriculum Managers to balance or prioritize the team’s workload and ensure pedagogical consistency and coherence across the curriculum.

Ensure that the curriculum teams they supervise adhere to their roles and responsibilities (outlined by a Curriculum RACI) throughout the product development timeline.

Work closely with Product Management and Design team members and the Executive Director, Math Curriculum throughout the prototyping process and ensure content written aligns with the product vision.

Work closely with the Project Management team and other department leaders to supervise project health, and identify and resolve issues and risks.

Work closely with the Product and Project Management teams to ensure timely delivery of materials for field trials, pilots, and commercial release.

Work with Curriculum Managers and Project Management team members to ensure timely creation and delivery of customized versions of the curriculum.

Work with the Executive Director, Math Curriculum and Product Management team members to maintain relationships with internal partners and external advisors, so that their feedback and vision are represented in the curriculum.

Work with the Director, K-12 Math Digital Curriculum, Product Management team members, the Executive Director, Math Curriculum and the VP, Math Education to provide pedagogical review of digital curriculum and ensure print alignment (where vital) to digital curriculum.

Work effectively across teams with diverse priorities and focus.

Basic Requirements:
3+ years of demonstrated ability with curriculum development in elementary mathematics

2+ years of experience leading curriculum development teams in a management role

Familiarity with mathematical curricula, standards, and pedagogical trends across pre-K and K-5

Demonstrated leadership and management skills

Comfort using Google Docs and Suggesting changes (i.e., “track changes”)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements:
5+ years of experience with curriculum development in elementary mathematics

3+ years of experience leading curriculum development teams in a management role
