Our Division

Bank Finance is responsible for the Accounting and Reporting deliverables for the Bank including Business Performance, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control and Statutory Reporting. Within the Financial Control and Statutory Reporting team, resides ownership of the general ledger including core accounting functions, financial control governance and supporting systems and processes and statutory reporting

Purpose of the Role

The main focus for you is the provision of expertise of Business processes, Financial Control and Accounting in order to support the Bank and Treasury controlled entities of AMP. In particular you’re going to be managing the general ledger, reporting and analysis for these entities.

More specifically your main responsibilities will include

• Providing accurate and timely closure of books and records at month-end (T+3 for Bank entities and T+5 for Treasury entities) and delivery of all reporting requirements for month-end and other key reporting periods
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and adequate internal controls ensuring the integrity of balances
• Managing and liaising on issues resolution with TCS (offshore partner), CRT (Central Reconciliations team) and other stakeholders
• Managing processes to ensure the daily integrity and governance of the ledger for reporting and analytical requirements
• Review of financial statements for AMP Bank, Progress Trust vehicles and the Bank’s subsidiaries, including analysis and managing queries from management, Group, auditors and other stakeholders
• Review of half and full year reporting package for submission to Group, ensuring these are prepared accurately and completed to set deadlines

With your positive ‘can do’ attitude and passion for learning what we also value in you are:

• Degree Qualified – Major in Accounting
• Partly or Fully Qualified CA / CPA (or equivalent)
• Ideally at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, including Finance processes in a large, complex organisation
• Medium to Advanced Excel skills
