The opportunity:

AMP Bank Limited is predominately a retail bank, with a focus on providing retail deposit accounts, residential mortgage products and services and other consumer value add services that support and compliment AMP’s businesses. The Bank distributes directly to retail customers and through Brokers and Planners. The Bank also operates a smaller Commercial Finance Division that provides lending services to Financial Planners.

The Practice Finance Credit Department is responsible for managing the credit quality of the Bank’s commercial lending portfolio.

How you will make an impact:

As a Practice Finance Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:

• Undertaking a thorough assessment on New Money and Restructured lending proposals as submitted by the 1st line and decisioning those proposals within your Delegated Lending Authority (DLA). (Training will be provided and a DLA issued once deemed competent)
• Adhering to SLA’s
• Reviewing and decisioning (within DLA) Redraw requests as submitted by 1st line
• Checking new loan documentation prepared by our solicitors to ensure accuracy and that all lending requirements have been addressed
• Reviewing and processing bad debt write off requests as required
• Any other assigned tasks

What you will bring to the role:

• Ability to analyse data and make decisions
• Capable of using initiative to work autonomously and ask relevant questions to support own recommendations
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels of management and business partners effectively
• Commitment to ensure work is delivered on time and to the highest quality
• PC literacy (including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
• Work both independently and as an effective team member
• Commitment to owning outcomes, problem solving and teamwork
• Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in a banking role (lending experience preferred)
• Must have a sound understanding of Company Financial Statements (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow etc). Accounting degree or similar highly regarded)
• Having previously held a delegated lending authority would be highly regarded
• Sound knowledge of legal entities, lending structures and statutory/regulatory requirements.
