AMG Vanadium Hiring for Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Cambridge, OH Full Time

Summary

AMG Vanadium LLC (AMG V) is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team at our Cambridge, Ohio facility. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with suppliers of vanadium-bearing raw materials as a member of the Sourcing team. Also, you will have responsibility for compiling, analyzing, modeling, and ing the Company’s financial and other data related to sourcing vanadium-bearing units, which will inform and advise business strategy. Additionally, you will work closely with internal and external partners to coordinate and support logistics for inbound vanadium-bearing raw materials and transboundary shipments, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of vanadium raw materials, goods, and documentation throughout the Supply Chain.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
• Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s values
• Provide coordination and support for logistics carriers of inbound vanadium-bearing raw materials; work with global partners to help facilitate transboundary shipments; become familiar with the environmental, safety, and transportation regulations and requirements to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of materials and goods
• Assist in preparation of quotes for vanadium raw material purchases
• Coordinate with key internal stakeholders in Operations, EHS, Sales, and Quality to define requirements for new vanadium-bearing raw materials which are under consideration by the Sourcing team; after material is sourced, coordinate with cross-functional team to successfully integrate new raw material into Supply Chain
• Conduct monthly actual versus planned analyses by raw material source
• Interface with internal and external customers to manage document flow throughout the Supply Chain
• Provide status, shipments, receipts, inventories, etc. to stakeholders on a real-time basis
• Prepare s and projections based on financial data
• Develop strong understanding of the business and manufacturing processes to correlate sourcing, production and financial data with financial performance
• Develop, produce, and track key performance metrics and other financial data that inform business decisions
• Model scenarios to inform and guide business opportunities and organizational decision making; provide analysis and support to business leaders as required
• Research competitors through various sources, including tracking of import/export records; review and research market intelligence and analysis
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
• Continuously evaluate related processes to improve efficiency and accuracy and control/reduce cost
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization; make recommendations to management to improve product and process profitability
• Perform other duties as may be required

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; Associate’s degree in related field required
• Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment a must; steel or hot metal experience a strong plus;

hands-on experience strongly preferred

• 3-5 years of experience in material handling, logistics, inventory control and/or supply chain management required; global logistics experience a plus

• Strong working knowledge of Excel and experience running financial models
• Ability to work effectively across functional lines in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
• Good follow through skills, as well as heightened attention to detail
• Ability to adapt well to change
