What is the purpose of this role?
To act as an Assistant Project Manager to assist with the management and delivery of allocated contracts safely in accordance with legislation and Amey procedures to contract specification and programme, while building and sustaining long term customer relationships.
What will this role involve?
To assist with promoting safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with safety responsibilities.
Assist with forecasting and monitoring the financial performance of the project for Amey, giving regular reports, comparing actual and forecast performance to plan expectations and explaining variations
Support training development and performance management.
Assist with allocating contracts and reviewing on a weekly basis.
Assist with progress reporting to Project Director and Client on a monthly basis.
To support the tender processes as required.
Assist with the management of quality, programme, cost and project contribution on the project for the Company.
Inform the Senior Project Manager of any adverse circumstances that threaten the achievement of financial, quality or programme expectations
Assist with maximise operating efficiency so that projects are delivered to agreed standards and targets and implement quality improvements when opportunities arise
Assist with identifying budgetary and programme issues that need to be addressed with the client to ensure their satisfaction and ensure that agreed key performance indicators, as agreed with the client, are met
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other appropriate regulations
Assist with the investigation and coordination of safety incidents.
The position is office based, but may require visits to clients, suppliers, third parties and work sites.

About CAFA
The Civils Assessment Framework Agreement (CAFA) team comprises approximately 60 Engineers and Technicians at all levels. Our core work is producing the technical assessments for all the various railway structures identified above. Our experienced engineers use a range of design tools to ensure we deliver consistent assessment results to our clients, including 3D CAD, structural analysis and Finite Element modelling systems such as Archie-M, Limit State Ring, SuperSTRESS, STAAD Pro and Lusas. As part of the assessment process, we also plan and undertake the initial inspections of these structures, using a variety of specialist access techniques, from confined spaces to rope access, and new technologies such as 3D laser scanning, 360° cameras and aerial drones to collect all the information required to complete a full structural analysis.
