SUMMARY

This individual is accountable for the timely preparation and posting of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of the company’s general ledger accounts and related schedules in accordance with GAAP including maintaining inventory, Bank Accounts, AP, and AR. Also support and account for precious metals activities and inventories of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare & input journal entries (monthly, adjusting, and recurring) in accordance with GAAP including journal entries such as to record inventory reserves, revenue recognition, payroll in support of the month end close and financial reporting as defined by management.
• Perform account reconciliations for G/L balances as part of the month end close.
• Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable including, bank wire posting, check runs, and posting misc. AP invoices for payment
• Maintain and reconcile Accounts Receivable including posting incoming customer bank wires and deposit customer checks with the bank
• Reconcile and maintain GL bank accounts with bank statements monthly
• Maintain fixed asset accounting
• Participate in physical inventories, reconcile inventory results, and record necessary adjustments. Review and post inventory results.
• Performs account activity analysis such as trend and cost reviews for all G/L Accounts monthly.
• Participate in all required audits, both internal and external as defined by management.
• Account reconciliation (general ledger and precious metal), resolving any reconciling items with other areas/departments and with management.
• Participate in various financial projects as assigned.
• Support customer service efforts as back up when needed including month end invoice/credit memo reviews
• Back up and support other areas as required by management for continued operations.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.), at least 8 years related experience in a production environment
• Ability to clearly present information and respond to questions from customers, vendors, employees, and management
• Must be able to utilize / manipulate computer programs, create spread sheets & formulas, create charts, merge excel and ERP data
• Microsoft Navision or similar ERP accounting system experience preferred
