About the position
We are seeking applications for an Employment Finance Officer position. If successful, you will provide financial and administrative support across the Employment Services Portfolio, to the Business Manager and to Senior Managers. You will maintain and access various business information and financial systems to prepare accurate and timely financial reports, accruals and commitments, thereby assisting with management decision making. The primary focus will be on processing financial payments and reimbursements for various employment programs, in a timely manner and in line with contractual, process and procedural requirements.

• Minimum of a Diploma in Finance, Business or related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability in applying accounting procedures in an accounts/business related environment
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, processes and reconciliations
• Ability to use various electronic databases, interpret financial reports and provide analysis of trends/variances for decision making purposes
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Advanced ability to use computerised financial systems including Finance One or similar finance system
• Ability to perform financial analysis and provide advice of a business nature
• Advanced computer skills particularly in spreadsheets, databases and word processing
• High level accounting and numerical skills
• Sound administration and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
