Job Description:

Americo is currently seeking an Internal Auditor. This role will be a key contributor to the internal audit team to facilitate completion of our Annual Audit Plan. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for day-to-day activities and tasks associated with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, compliance, financial, and operational audits. Willing to hire at the Associate, Staff or Senior Auditor level.

Responsibilities:

• Perform internal control, operational, compliance, and financial audits.
• Prepare internal control documentation and testing for our Internal Controls over Financial Reporting attestation.
• Executes audit scope, objectives and procedures to ensure appropriate risk coverage.
• Obtains data and utilizes methodologies for audit analysis.
• Concludes on audit testing, and prepares written documentation. Assists in presenting results in the closing meeting.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships with company management, associates, and fellow team members.
• Provides support to the external auditors in partnership for direct assistance projects.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of common risks and controls in a business environment, including accounting practices/statements
• Data management & analysis – Understanding of common data gathering tools/techniques, and have experience on what to look for in data analysis.
• Effective communication skills (written and oral) – Should be able to build relationships with other groups within the Company, and within the team to achieve goals. This individual should also be able to document conclusions in a written format, and to deliver orally to business line leaders.
• Prioritization – Able to select and focus on the most important issues and balance multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. Should be a self-starter, and knows when to ask for clarification or additional guidance.
• Time management skills – able to set realistic goals, as well as work through unforeseen obstacles and circumstances to meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal, research and accounting skills.
• Degree in accounting, business, information technology or a related field, preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have three to four years work experience in public accounting, internal audit or insurance.
• CPA, CIA or CISA is preferred, but not required.
