American Crystal Sugar Company currently has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Systems Manager to join our accounting team! This position requires a strong, high-energy leader who is driven, curious and possesses excellent accounting and technology skills. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will spearhead accounting initiatives and advise on important financial decisions.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Manage the accounts payable team consisting of one direct and four indirect reports. Assign and direct work, appraise performance, provide mentorship and career planning, and resolve issues.
• Plan, direct and design the evaluations and assessments of the Company’s system of internal controls at all locations. Work with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure the internal controls result in accurate and reliable accounting records.
• Serve as Business Lead for finance module in SAP and system administrator for other applications owned by the accounting team.
  • Act as the system super-user for the accounting systems
  • Coordinate system upgrades and implementations
  • Drive best practices in utilization of accounting systems
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Provide support to end users of the accounting systems by responding to inquiries and providing instruction.

• Work with operational and accounting staff to test and implement new application initiatives
• Provide ad-hoc data analysis based on user and system requirements.
• Perform special projects as assigned and work across departments to facilitate changes
• Develops solutions to problems in conjunction with the Corporate Controller.
• Reports to the Corporate Controller on routine matters to obtain a second opinion when needed but is responsible for analyzing and defining these problems before work has begun.
• Has the freedom to operate within company policy guidelines; and relies on established policy and precedents as guidelines in formulating solutions.
• The Accounting Systems Manager provides leadership to create an atmosphere conducive to the professional and managerial development of the accounts payable team.
