About the Position
Resolute Investment Group (Resolute) is looking for a highly motivated and determined individual that is desirous to gain experience in commercial real estate investing. This individual will be joining a SF Bay Area based firm focused on the acquisition, management and disposition of commercial multi-family assets across the United States.
The ideal candidate must be willing and able to assume a wide array of responsibilities, including coordinating third-parties, managing aspects of the due diligence process, financial modeling, asset management, investor reporting, among other functions. As such, the Associate will benefit from exposure to numerous business modules while simultaneously focusing on the ultimate goal of value creation.
Associates will have the opportunity to:
1. Learn and develop a broad range of financial, credit, real estate underwriting, valuation, modeling and analytical skills;
2. Enhance business communication, writing, investor interaction, deal negotiation and leadership abilities;
3. Broaden their network of vendors, lenders, investors, brokers and peer private equity firms;
4. Take on a wide array of responsibilities that span investments, business development, and investor relations; and,
5. Evolve their critical thinking, discipline and overall investment acumen.
Responsibilities
1. Create detailed models for prospective, new and existing investments
2. Author fund-level economic analysis and assist with fund-level investment performance modeling
3. Draft market, comparable property, economic analyses
4. Evaluate prospective investments across North America
5. Make calls to agents, brokers and property owners
6. Review monthly property financials, rent rolls and other property-level reports for accuracy, completion, and provide feedback to the property management team
7. Interface with property management teams to ensure objectives are being completed
8. Provide various analysis and presentation materials
9. Lead the development of presentations for lenders, investors and investment staff
10. Assist in asset management of the current investment portfolio
11. Assist with onsite due diligence, sometimes requiring travel on short notice
12. Track and report information relevant to real estate transactions
13. Perform extensive due diligence, including travelling to properties, meeting various management teams, coordinating consultants, and formulating investment strategies and development plans
14. Assist with modeling various capital structure scenarios and review of lender documents
Requirements
1. Passion for investing, learning, and continuous professional development
2. Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
3. Understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and real estate finance
4. Prior investment banking and/or investing experience is a plus
5. Strong sense of competitiveness, humor and humility
6. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly
7. Unwavering work ethic
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to work independently
10. Ability to work with a diverse group of people
11. Extremely strong attention to detail under tight deadlines
12. Demonstrated poise, integrity and an ability to remain diplomatic under stress
13. Willingness to work relatively long hours and weekends on an as-needed basis
14. Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Windows OS
15. Prior or current coursework in accounting, finance, economics, and/or real estate is a plus
16. Demonstrated interest and knowledge of the capital markets and commercial real estate
17. Degree from a top tier university
18. Willingness to travel occasionally
