As the Assistant Provost of Education Professions, you provide leadership support for a portfolio of Education Professions departments and programs, including licensure programs, at American College of Education. This position articulates the college vision and ensures the delivery of quality student experiences to enhance personal and professional skills by supporting the core values of the college. Through continued growth, monitoring and development of the programs, you provide direction, instilling a strong ethical commitment to excellence, modeling lifelong studies and the value of online education. This position supports department chairs and faculty in daily operations and strategic planning initiatives. You are accountable for the quality of the curriculum, faculty, and student satisfaction in their departments within the portfolio. As this position has oversight for the Leadership and Administration department, you are required to have experience as a school building or district-level administrator and have vast knowledge in P-12 administration and accreditation and state requirements, including CAEP.

Day to Day Responsibilities
In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:
You are charged with creating and maintaining an open, collaborative, collegial, transparent, and inclusive college setting dedicated to enhancing the scholarship, achievement, satisfaction and success of students and faculty.
Leadership:
Provides administrative oversight, strategic leadership of academic programs and all aspects related to curricular choices and facilitation of programs and courses.
Accountable for high-quality curriculum and course content development for courses within their departments. Curriculum must meet or exceed institutional and programmatic accreditation, including CAEP, and ACE standards.
Assists ACE with growth through proposing new programs within the Education Professions portfolio domains. Looks for innovative ways to expand ACE’s mission into new markets through developing new programs and aligning proposals to appropriate standards of excellence.
Leads departments in growth planning initiatives through reviewing processes and systems for efficiency. Focuses on student satisfaction and success in all decisions.
Represents programs at both internal and external venues, including various institutional functions, state and national meetings as needed.
Coordinates and directs academic departments within the college to ensure relevant and timely program development and review as an aspect of continuous improvement.
Supports American College of Education leadership in establishing goals, strategic planning, and reporting at the institutional and program levels.
Establishes and maintains viable infrastructures to manage controlled growth, including professional development, faculty scheduling, and committees.
Models appropriate collaboration, nurturing relationships across departments and programs to promote consistency and stability in an ethical manner.
Supervision of Resources:
In conjunction with designated leadership, supports faculty selection, development, and mentoring by guiding leadership at the department and program levels.
Ensures fiscal responsibility of human and financial resources for Education Professions departments within the portfolio.
Explores and establishes priorities for resources to support faculty development and program initiatives.
Strengthens the college’s capacity to engage in research and establishes a creative agenda by exploring, developing and expanding new enterprises across all programs.
Program Initiatives:
Coordinates academic program reviews and work with departments and offices to ensure continuous improvement is realized and documented appropriately.
Builds on existing programs through expanding and improving offerings and initiating new strategies for stellar student experiences.
Fosters innovative and creative options for learning.
Works cooperatively with various departments to deliver effective, quality online instruction in compliance with the mission and vision of the institution.
Compliance:
Ensures academic policies, processes, and procedures align, and ensure compliance with regulatory statues and accreditation requirements.
Supports program plans and expectations across the college by aligning mission and vision, determining the impact of institutional policies and procedures.
Monitors state and federal regulatory requirements to adjust program requirements to meet changes in standards.
Reviews, reports, and helps regulate decisions related to accreditation, serving as a resource for program development and maintenance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Earned terminal degree in a field associated with educational administration, leadership, or higher education.
Experience as a principal, superintendent, or assistant superintendent is required.
10+ years’ experience in leadership positions within an educational setting using both traditional and non-traditional teaching formats, higher education strongly preferred. Experience in P-12 administration is a must.
5+ years’ experience in progressive leadership experience in higher education setting is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in successfully developing collegial relationships in an online/virtual environment.
Experience working with state boards, commissions of education or institutional accrediting agencies preferred. CAEP accreditation experience required.
Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field.
