American Business Forms Inc Hiring for Distribution Forklift Operator at United States Full Time

Summary

The primary responsibilities of this position within the distribution center are to move shipments and materials around our Distribution center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Duties
  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Put away product utilizing sit down forklifts, standup forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Load and secure products on truck, pallets, and machinery prior to transportation.
  • Identify damages and shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Rotate stock to ensure proper inventory management and utilization.
  • Comply with company policies, safety rules, and legal guidelines.

• Recordkeeping
  • Manage inventory utilizing internal web-based applications.
  • Maintain files of customer invoices and supporting documentation, including the filing of new documents and those returned to the department.
  • Process receiving documents to include all customers and transfers of inventory internally and externally.
  • Research, invoice and inventory issues or discrepancies as needed.
• Maintenance
  • Ensure distribution center is accessible and safe for all team members and visitors by being observant of and/or ing safety concerns.
  • Keep distribution center clean, orderly, and free of safety concerns.
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and safety issues, by performing regular maintenance.

Education and/or Experience

• Required: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); no experience required.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED; six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technology and Competency Abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies:

• Internet use
• Ability to obtain familiarity with the following:
  • APS (American’s PeopleSoft)
  • UPS shipping software
  • FedEx shipping software

Demonstrated competency in the following areas:

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

In order to be an authorized operator of material handling equipment such as forklifts, powered pallet jacks, reach trucks or order pickers, forklift certification must be achieved and maintained. Training will be provided.

The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and 70 pounds occasionally.
