Job Description

Responsible for further enabling and adding value to the supply chain team by identifying and removing barriers to on time, right the first time, order fulfillment.

Working with customer service teams, planning some shipping activities, maintaining shipping records, researching, and analyzing out of norm situations and some inventory / order fulfillment & receiving activities.

Demonstrating proficiency in this role may lead to a potential supervisor position in the future*

PRIMARY DUTIES :

• Act as a Safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities
• Facilitates responsibilities of the Logistics Execution area with primary focus on the higher value, more complex areas of material flow, working with customer service and planning teams with a goal of shipment of customer orders with the least number of obstacles.
• Processing and quality control of the Bills of Lading in the warehouse management system. File and maintain control for confirmed bills of lading, also referencing these as requested by other Amcor parties.
• Schedule and track ocean vessel containers with providers, provide updates and / or escalate risks
• Completion and dissemination of international documents for customer / intercompany shipping orders
• Satisfy requests from customer service such as shipping details, reconciling issues, and communicating requests for expediting, for instance.

This must be done in a timely manner.

• Research and reconcile KMS complaints and customer inquiries, escalate to supervisor
• Own and maintain the Mundelein Shipping shared mailbox; act on requests, share issues and escalate unobtainable situations
• As requested, assist in performing and rectifying cycle counts with a high degree of accuracy
• Help arrange carrier pickups for orders that are shipping outbound
• Help the supervisor coordinate shipping operations
• Backup for shipping and receiving associates as needed
• Any new tasks that will arise that will improve the safety and performance of the Mundelein shipping and receiving team and the logistics execution processes.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and equivalent business-related work experience
• A minimum of 3 -5 years directly related experience working with supply chain related activities in logistics, production control, inventory management, warehousing, preferably in a manufacturing environment with the associated process and data requirements
• Knowledge of federal transportation rules and regulations, DOT rules and other shipping regulations
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee if frequently required to stand, walk and sit and to be able to work at a computer from extended periods of time.

The employee is also required to regularly walk through a manufacturing facility and is, therefore exposed to moderate noise levels.

The employee may also be required to occasionally operate a forklift.
