JOB PURPOSE

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Amber corporate group finance team.

We are looking for a new or recently qualified accountant (up to 1 year max post qualification) to take

responsibility for the financial and accounting operations for a portfolio of small legal entities within the group.

You will need to be able to be able to work to tight deadlines, work as part of a team whilst taking ownership

of assigned entities and work on multiple tasks at the same time.

We will consider applicants from both practice and industry (SME/owner managed)

ROLE AND DUTIES

Prime responsibility for a portfolio of small sized entities and SPVs within the group – mainly UK, some

exposure to overseas possible. The portfolio may include holding entities, GP entities and/or

development SPVs


Managing funding flows as necessary, reviewing banking and bank reconciliations for said entities

Undertaking quarterly closes (posting of accruals, prepayments, journals, working papers

Reporting results to line manager / GFC for quarterly consolidation

Payment approvals/cashbook approvals prepared by Accounts Assistant

Managing intra-group funding transactions and monthly balance reconciliations

Preparation of year end statutory accounts for entities and liaising with auditors

Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and analysis as necessary

Exposure to VAT and tax as relevant to portfolio

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Strong A-Level results

ACA / ACCA

Highly numerate

High level of accuracy and eye for detail

Excellent writing and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and tight reporting deadlines

A proactive, problem solving and pre-emptive approach to tackling issues and managing risk

Take ownership of reporting for entities

Enthusiasm to add value to the role and keen develop further skills and experience as the Group grows
