The Amber Australia accounting team is responsible to provide accounting and tax reporting services for

the Australian projects. In addition, the Accounting team provides accounting and tax related support to the

deal origination team for any new deals they are looking to invest in and facilitate the set-up of the

accounting and tax function for any new projects entered into.

Job Specifications:

Responsibility and ownership of the financial and tax reporting obligations for the projects that we provide

Asset Management and Corporate Services:

• Review and approve invoices in iDocs (invoice posting platform) to ensure that all invoices are

captured and complete in SUN (general ledger system) by the month end cut-off date;

• Conduct “Know your supplier (KYS)” checks for new suppliers and consortium partners;

• Review monthly sales invoices (including any recharges) for contracted revenues and maintain the

revenue model for CPI and other adjustments;

• Review the reconciliation of bank accounts on a weekly and monthly basis;

• Review the quarterly journals, e.g. IFRIC 12 model, project distributions, financing payments,

accruals and provisions, etc.;

• Review and lodge the monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) including PAYG monthly

instalments calculations and Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) for the projects;

• Review the quarterly balance sheet and p&l reconciliations for each of the projects, including

variance analysis and commentary;

• Prepare the quarterly tax calculations and calculate any withholding tax obligations;

• Prepare the management reports and board reports on a quarterly basis for the projects, including

variance to budget commentaries;

• Collate the quarterly board packs, review of minutes, action items and resolutions by liaising with the

company secretary;

• Manage the annual tax return preparation process with appointed tax agent;

• Work closely with the Treasury team to monitoring the tax forecasting of the projects;

• Prepare project entity statutory accounts;

• Lead the annual audit process;

• Review the monthly payroll processing for a small group (approx 10) employees including annual

workers compensation renewal and payroll tax obligations;

• Assist with preparation of the annual Amber budget;

• Liaise with tax and accounting advisors and other external stakeholders;

• Support the Originations team on tax and accounting treatments and on-boarding of new deals;

• Management and development of one staff member;

• Travel as necessary to the project sites;

• Ad hoc projects.

Qualifications and Experience required

• Qualified Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant with at least 3 years post-qualified

experience from the Financial Services industry already operating within a financial reporting role;

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, including IFRIC 12 – Service Concession Arrangements;

• Strong technical knowledge of tax legislation across various structure types, eg trusts, partnerships,

companies;

• Knowledge of PPP concessions or infrastructure investments advantageous;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• Ability to work independently, prioritise deadlines and take ownership of entities under their control;

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail;

• Proficiency using Microsoft office suite (Excel is essential);
