We are looking for a well-rounded Software Development Manager with a proven track record of solving challenging technical problems, managing a team and creating great products for end users. You will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You will lead and own all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

· 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams

· Experience partnering with product OR program management teams3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers

· 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

· 10+ years of software industry experience working in software development

· 5+ years of managing software teams, including all aspects of people development and team building.

· Experience owning the full product lifecycle from product definition and roadmap through delivery.

· Highly motivated self-starter with bias for innovative thinking

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Excellent business judgement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· The ideal candidate has a track record of launching projects with Java/C#, C++, Perl, and distributed computing technologies

· Experience taking a leadership role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

· Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

· Experience influencing software engineer’ best practices within your team
Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

· Experience working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
A strong desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100.00 – $180.00 per year
