Amart Furniture Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Rochedale Full Time

Amart Furniture is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join the Store Support Centre based in Rochedale.

If you’re only starting out on your career after university, or are looking to advance with hands on mentoring, we are offering a varied role with opportunities to work with business partner and be involved in projects across the business.

About the role:

Provides assistance to the accounting team, including processing and recording transactions, analyzing financial reports and preparing reports.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Monthly financial reporting: Preparing month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations. Variance analysis on allocated expense lines.
• Fixed assets: Assist in the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
• Financial analysis: Draft monthly commentary on monthly reporting packs
• Statutory reporting: Assist the finance team with compiling the annual audit reporting packages.
• Taxation compliance: Compile the requisite information required to prepare GST, FBT, and Payroll tax reporting as required.
• Reconciliations: Provide back up assistance to cash book officer to reconcile retail and banking transactions.
• Process improvements: Involvement in allocated process improvement initiatives.

About you:

• Keen to work in an energetic and always evolving environment.
• Have exceptional communication skills.
• Be organised with an ability to prioritise.
• Always looking to improve current processes.
• Experience in or aptitude to investigate and apply Accounting Standards and Tax legislation.
• A business or commerce degree and is currently studying or about to commence studying CA or CPA.
• Be willing to work within a team environment.
