An opportunity is now available for an Assistant Accountant to join our corporate team based in Subiaco. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of banking and aged care funding for Amana Living and associated entities and assist with month end/year end reporting, always ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and complies with accounting standards. This role plays an active role in maintaining Amana Living’s Philosophy of Care and in living the 3Rs culture – The Right People, Doing the Right Things, the Right Way.

About the role

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Responsibility for the overall aged care funding process
• Complete Medicare reconciliation for Residential care on a monthly basis
• Daily and monthly bank reconciliations, with all exceptions investigated and cleared
• Credit card administration and follow up
• Manage the disbursement of allowances to residents
• Assists with the month end/year-end financial reporting and related processes
• Assists with the monthly review of financial performance, including identifying and analysing variances and partnering with cost centre managers to understand results and trends
• Assists with the annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning process
• Any additional tasks as directed by the Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Controller

About You

Essential Criteria

• Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree)
• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Possess a National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months) or be willing to obtain one at interview stage
• Evidence of Flu (2022) and COVID vaccinations
• Previous experience using an ERP system (desirable)
• Previous experience working in the aged care industry in a similar role (desirable)
