The opportunity

A division of Altus Group, Altus Data Solutions is Canada’s Leader in Commercial Real Estate Research providing a range of services from in-depth market surveys to independent market commentary and benchmarking. We collect and publish national real estate data that is consistent, accurate, timely, credible, transparent and independent.

Reporting to a Vice President, Data Operations, we need a Senior Analyst, Business Analysis (BA) & Optimization who wants to play an integral role in delivering our data solutions offerings. We need a Senior BA who is committed to seeing things through at every step; a subject matter expert and trusted advisor with the vision to create innovative solutions to complex problems. We want someone with strengths in the end-to-end process from gathering requirements to creating user stories and collaborating with Developers and Product Managers.

Given the current situation, you would start off working remotely and then transition into a hybrid position.

Here’s what our new Senior Analyst, Business Analysis & Optimization will do:

Stakeholder management. Working directly with external and internal stakeholders, conduct analysis of business user needs to develop a deep understanding of client/stakeholder requirements:

Assess current state of processes within Data Solutions

Interpret stakeholder needs and translate them to detailed specifications

Define and develop technical systems requirements and business process requirements documentation

Process Improvement. Analyze current processes and determine which current needs should be translated to the new processes and where we can recommend streamlining or removing redundancies. This will include a full business case that will allow opportunities to be evaluated and prioritized.

Document recommended changes for the implementation of new/revised processes and outline stakeholder impact and outstanding issues to be solutioned. Documentation must be of sufficient detail to serve as requirements for Developers to code automation applications.

Conduct User Acceptance Testing on final automations to ensure solution is accurately implemented

Data Governance. Support the Manager to continue to develop and enhance data governance operations:

Help to define and develop business processes for data collection methods and standards.

Review the implementation of data ingestion tools and integration into platforms – analyze impact to workflows across internal business processes and technical platforms

Work with data providers to improve quality and streamline data formats received to fit platforms

Modify and update the appropriate data governance documents as required.

Teamwork. Collaborate across teams and partner closely with leaders of stakeholder groups for each process to refine processes to positively impact all workflows while ensuring appropriate buy-in:

Champion the best options for the client’s business needs and the technical team’s feasibility, to guarantee users are delighted with the product solutions

Work/develop research team regarding with improved workflows

Work closely with technical developers to ensure the requirements are understood

Provide Training to research team regarding how new improved workflows
