Assistant Accountant – FTSE listed – Commercial Real Estate
London based (Hybrid working)

Altum Consulting are pleased to be supporting a FTSE listed Real Estate conglomerate with a global presence to find a part-qualified Assistant Accountant.

The Accounts Assistant applies the principles of accounting to provide the financial information necessary for the planning and financial protection of the company. To maintain financial policies and management information systems, as well as liaise with colleagues on all aspects of finance. The role combines local GAAP accounting skills with business management skills and the individual must be able to work flexibly on ad-hoc projects.

Primary Responsibilities,

• To provide assistance to the UK accounting function in a hands-on role undertaking bookkeeping duties, processing payments, raising invoices and performing reconciliations;
• To assist with the monthly management accounts processes and financial reporting of the UK subsidiaries within the business;
• To develop the role through on-the-job one-to-one training, as well as support for completion of a professional accounting qualification;
• To assist in all other aspects of the Group Finance function where applicable.

Required Experience,

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar)
• Degree educated
• Previous experience within an accounting function and preferably in the investment management industry
• Ability to pick up new systems quickly; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX advantageous
• Proficient Excel skills and competence with other Microsoft Office packages;
• Good communication and inter-personal skills
• Strong analytical skills, with an eye for detail
• Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Self-starter with a proactive attitude, willingness to learn and develop their skills and knowledge. Will be able to demonstrate these qualities during interview
• Excellent written and spoken English
• A team player who works for the benefit of the team as a whole
