The Senior Accounting Consultant within the Expense Accounting team is a key member of the team and is responsible for enterprise-wide expense accounting, governance, and reporting. This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. Key Responsibilities:
Expense reporting and analysis. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for Management Reporting and External Reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting for Corporate Controllers department and GAAP Employee Benefit expenses.
Pension plan accounting and reporting. Work closely with the Benefits Design team, Corporate Accounting Research, and external vendors to assure proper accounting for pension liabilities and expenses.
Additionally, this position will prepare quarterly and annual schedules for external reporting, and support business unit pension expense forecasts.
Statutory expense reporting and analysis. Prepare quarterly and annual statutory schedules for property & casualty companies. Analyze statutory expenses to support reported results. Prepare quarterly Business Summary Analysis and annual expense exhibit for a life company.
Monthly accounting close processes and reporting. Participate in accruals process, GAAP adjustments, reporting & analysis, and other responsibilities.
Balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
Leading and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance the reporting processes.
Leading and managing team projects
Other miscellaneous responsibilities and projects Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA or CPA candidate desired
Four or more years of related accounting or Finance experience Functional Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills, able to work effectively with employees both internal and external to the accounting function
Advanced time management skills and organization skills with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Advanced problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in team settings
SAP and/or FDW knowledge a plus
Blackline experience a plus

Compensation offered for this role is $67,300.00-$87,810.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
