Job Description:
Allied Universal is seeking a Team Lead in Calgary, Canada.
Hourly Pay: $19.75
Candidates available for the following schedules are encouraged to apply only.
Week 1: Thursday-Friday-Saturday 08:30-20:30 hrs.
Week 2: Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday 08:30-20:30 hrs.
The role of the team lead is to work closely with guards on site during their shift. In the absence of the Site Supervisor, Team Lead is responsible for controlling and directing the guard staff on site. In order to be successful in this position, the individual must have the following qualifications.
Team Lead Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Have a valid Alberta Security License.
- Ability to diffuse and de-escalate potential verbal & physical altercations.
- Customer service focused.
- Strong communicator, verbal and written.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, discretion and overall decision-making skill.
- Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations.
Team Lead Responsibilities:
- Coach, train and direct controllers and patrol guards.
- Be present on the floor with the patrol guards for the duration of their shift.
- Be the first responder to any incidents reported over the radio.
- Provide controller relief, therefore, must have a strong understanding of all controller duties.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols of library space and property.
- Act as first or second responder for security and medical related incidents.
- Provide daily toolbox talks with oncoming security staff.
- Train and continue to orientate new guards using the approved training checklist.
- Submit detailed incident reports using the site Incident Management System.
- Follow up on incident report submissions with guards if correction or clarification is required.
- Observe and coach guards to ensure proper patrol techniques and patron interactions are compliant to the site requirements.
- Assist site staff and managment as and when required during events.
- Schedule guards in the event of book offs / ad hoc requests.
- Review and coach staff on report writing.
- Assist site supervisor with any additional requirements as and when needed.
