Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Professional Retail Security Guards in Edmonton, Alberta.

Payrate: $17. 50/hr.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1 year of Retail Security experience is preferred

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Possess effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.

As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check

Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

Patrol retail store premises to ensure safety, address policy breaches and any concerns.

Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

Monitor site visitors, alarm systems and CCTV to ensure safety according to the site policies and procedures

Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner

De-escalate crisis situations, provide active support and liaise with emergency personnel, including; law enforcement and paramedic resources

Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers

Write clear and detailed s, including incident, emergency and daily s

Ability to calmly and efficiently handle emergency situations at the client site in accordance to the site post orders

Able to:
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms

Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
