Allied Universal is currently hiring for
Emergency / Security Dispatcher
for one of our
industrial sites located 20 minutes north of Fort Saskatchewan.
Pay Rate: $26. 30/hr

Rotational Shifts: 5 on 4 off. 4 on 5 off
Combination of Day shifts: 0600 to 1800 hrs and Overnight shifts 1800 to 0600 hrs.
Min 3 years of experience or graduate of the Grant MacEwan Emergency Communications
A dispatch position at the site offers dedicated services associated with Emergency Response Dispatching. This includes:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must have Grant MacEwan Emergency Communications Certificate (or equivalent) OR 911 Operator experience OR minimum 3 years Industry related Security and Emergency dispatch experience.
Receiving emergency calls and obtaining information regarding the emergencies.
Dispatching the appropriate emergency service to the location of the incident
Transmit necessary information to field personnel via radio or telephone communication systems
Perform interface functions between Shell and the external agencies during a site-wide emergency.
Monitor all CCTV cameras and access control alarmsAnswer routine telephone and radio calls
Prioritize calls for service and manpower allocation
Immediately enact the public complaint process upon receipt of a public complaints or concern (i.e., noise complaints)
Oversees basic operation of security alarm systems
Perform after hour call-outs for personnel
Serve as the Emergency contact for Pipelines and Sherwood Marketing Terminal

Dispatching the appropriate emergency service to the location of the incident

Perform interface functions between Shell and the external agencies during a site-wide emergency.
Key competencies required for this position are as follows:
Have knowledge of the standard radio and telephone communications receiving and transmitting equipment
Possess strong computer skills
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Have the ability to interpret and give both verbal and written instructions
Possess both excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have the ability to make sound decisions using all available information
Demonstrate the ability to appropriately respond to changing circumstances
Have excellent prioritization skills and be multi-task orientated
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including communicating effectively
Analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions in emergency and routine situations
Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work under pressure
Ensure the confidentiality of all records containing personal information
Possess good hearing and vision (including color vision) appropriate for call-taking/dispatching functions
Work 12-hour rotating shifts including days, nights weekends and statutory/religious holidays
Display the ability to work with and interpret facility maps
Possess strong HSSE leadership skills.
Demonstrate an excellent attendance record
Work in a private office with little to no face-to-face interaction
Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Incident training (Drills/Exercises)

The individual will have the ability to utilize the following systems:
Access Control System
Site Paging Systems
Site telecommunication systems
Site radio systems
Headcount Assembly System
Successful applicants will be required to:
Have a criminal record check done
Pass pre-access A&D testing
Take a 40 hr Security Officer’s training course
Acquire an individual Security Officer’s License through Alberta Solicitor General
