Job Summary:

The Inkjet Mail Operator applies knowledge of printing and inserting of mailing equipment, software and integrated systems to process computer output on the printers automated inserting/mailing machine and prepares outgoing mail.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and manufacturer specifications.
• Review job bags for specifications, customer samples, and proofs if furnished.
• Gathers component material(s) and positions it to accommodate efficient machine feeding.
• Apply postage by selecting the proper feed rate and monitor the machine to avoid errors/jams during the process.
• Monitor, collaborate, and instruct mailing helpers to achieve consistent performance and product quality.
• Conduct working knowledge of mail sorting, traying, sacking, and palletizing mail procedures.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality, maintenance and good manufacturing practices.

Qualifications:

• Teamwork & a positive attitude.
• Ability to operate a printing and automated inserting machine.
• Ability to use measuring tools and hand tools.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Good communication, organizational skills with the ability to work within deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
• Mathematic skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.
• Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary.
• Good verbal and written comprehension to understand job orders and follow detailed instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• 1-3 years related experience or training.
• Experience working in a mailroom, USPS, or print production environment.
• Knowledge of USPS postal regulations preferred.

Physical Requirements: Standing-80%, Walking-20%, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 50lbs. Lifting 25-50 lbs. consistently.

Shift Available & Schedule: 1st shift: 8:00am-4:00pm, 2nd shift: 4:00pm-12:00am & 3rd shift: 12:00am-8:00-am
