Alliance Resource Mfg, LLC Hiring for Purchasing Manager at Canton, OH Full Time

Due to growth and investment in our people we are currently looking for a highly motivated, agile, people oriented, engaging and results focused Purchasing Manager for our Production facility in Canton Ohio, USA.

In this position you will:

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track and key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Craft negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms.

Furthermore, you will manage the Local Materials Management Department and be responsible for achieving the key performance indicators set by the corporate Global Materials Management Department (located in Zwaag, The Netherlands). You’ll ensure that well-developed suppliers are available for the entire product range, so that the Operational Purchaser and Purchase Assistant can order there efficiently. You’ll guarantee that production units, subcontractors and spare parts warehouses, have the right quality materials and services available on time and cost efficiently.

The Team

The Global Materials Management Department is responsible for the entire process from (and including) the article assortment management up to and including the delivery of selected materials to the international production units, subcontractors and spare parts warehouses within the set quality and availability requirements and at optimal costs.

For the US, you will be managing two people in the Local Materials Management Department and you will directly to the Vice President of our Production Site in Canton, Ohio and indirectly to our Global Materials Management Manager.

Your Priorities And Skills

We expect you to have strong knowledge in the area Planning, organizing and supervising the work performed. According to the vision and policy of the Global Materials Management department, you will, select, contract and develop (international) suppliers (quality, availability, costs), and manage and intensify these partnerships. You have the urge to research the market and market developments regarding raw materials and semi-finished products (price and availability) and will continuously acquire technical knowledge of manufacturing processes such as roll forming, injection molding, machine construction and value added services. As manager you’ll encourage continuous improvements in “inventory management” which should lead to reduction of (obsolete) stocks and risks and increase inventory turnover.

Furthermore, the following aspects are important for this job:

• Good command of English spoken and written.
• Possess good negotiation skills.
• Commercial establishment and cost consciousness.
• Knowledge and experience with automation systems such as MS Office and ERP.
• Possess commercial, financial, logistical and legal insight.
• Systematic, independent and able to work in teams.
• Ability to set priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate’s degree in Business Administration (or relevant work history), Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within purchasing or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience managing others
• Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager or (Tactical) Purchaser in a technical (assembly) environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask in a fast-paced environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to adapt to changing demands as appropriate.
• Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach, and mentor.
