All West Engineering is a mining service provider that offers fixed/mobile maintenance, manufacturing and equipment rebuilds for mining clients across Australia. Due to the rapid growth of our company, we are expanding our finance team coming into the new financial year.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team in Perth! You will be managing our end-to-end accounts receivable function and supporting reporting, forecasting and auditing. You will also work closely with the Commercial and Operations teams to ensure the accuracy of our monthly reporting.

The position is based in our Perth Head Office and is a full-time role reporting directly to the CFO; your place in the finance team will be fast-paced working across multi companies.

Duties and key responsibilities

• Manage end to end accounts receivable including raising internal and external customer invoices, follow up of outstanding payments and ensuring timely period closeout
• Assist with end of month activities including bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, cost & revenue accruals, BAS and stocktakes
• Provide support to the accounts payable team as and when required.
• Undertaking ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Accountant and Chief Financial Officer

Essential skills you will have

• Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and other accounting principles and standards
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, degree qualified in Accounting (or equivalent)
• CA/CPA Qualification in progress
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and work as part of a team
• Detail oriented with strong time management skills and proven ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Strong Communication and customer service skills
•
