Educational Director for Early Childhood

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Valid NY State Teaching Certification in Birth – 2nd Grade (mandatory)
• Previous experience as an Educational Director (at least 2 years)
• 3-5 years of Curriculum and Program Management
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice for infants, toddlers and preschoolers
• Applicable knowledge and understanding of NAEYC standards
• Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing regulations.
• Optional – SAS or SBL

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood
• Promote a professional environment between parents, teachers and staff.
• Ability to lead staff in development and implementation of education curriculum
• Ability to facilitate the coordination of multiple tasks and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
• Working knowledge of DOH regulations and codes, and ability to handle site inspections
• Cultivate an environment of self-respect, respect of others and a community.
• Review weekly lesson plans, daily reports and address parent concerns and questions
• Have knowledge of proper nutrition requirements for infants and children.
• Participate in hiring educational staff, enrichment activities and specialty teachers.
• Coordinate parent/teacher conferences to share development milestones of enrolled children
• Management of the curriculum, parent communications and social media content
• Participate in facility tours and family interviews as required by Program Director.

• Schedule parent/teacher conference meetings and staff meetings.
