Overview:
AlgaeBarn is seeking a full time customer support representative to join our team and facilitate the success of the company. This position provides the highest level of service to all of AlgaeBarn’s customers. The customer support representative is the face/voice of the company and primarily deals with customers through phone conversation, live chat and email. AlgaeBarn is an aquaculture company that grows and provides plankton and algae for the aquarium industry in order to promote the well being of reef aquariums throughout the United States. The customer support team ensures that all of the company’s customers are properly supported and satisfied with our goods and services. AlgaeBarn’s most successful team members enjoy a good day of customer support, are attentive to the details of their position and promote a positive work environment. Job Duties:
-The customer support representative trouble shoots customer issues and provides the highest level of support and service.
-The customer support representative communicates with customers via phone, and live chat and email in a professional manner while always reflecting the company in a positive light.
-The customer support representative resolves customers’ problems promptly and helps ensure the department provides service to all customers in a timely and professional manner.
-The customer service representative provides productive work in an efficient manner.
-The customer support representative effectively communicates up and across the organization to keep team members and management aware of potential issues. This position collects data on tickets and helps with the analyzations of improving products and service for the customer. This position connects the customers to the operations department in order to respond to the needs of customers as a collective through the entire company.
-The customer service representative promotes AlgaeBarn and it’s products through their interactions with customers.
-The customer service representative ensures their equipment and technology is operational and compatible for the position.
-The customer service representative utilizes AlgaeBarn operational systems to track work, projects and communicate throughout the organization.
-Follows and helps improve standardized procedures developed and administered by AlgaeBarn.
-Learns and develops an understanding of the species and products AlgaeBarn sells.
-This position helps support the efforts of the shipping center by priortizing customers with pending issues. This role connects directly with AlgaeBarn’s distribution efforts.
-Always facilitates a positive work environment that is open to change and development.
Job Requirements:
-A strong work ethic and being self-motivated is required for this position. As an inhouse customer support representative, this position will help convey happening and the culture of the company to remote team members in the same department. This position is expected to communicate effectively and be able to account for their work and time in a value adding manner.
-This position requires the ability to provide the highest level of customer service and problem resolution. Familiarity with customer service is required in this role.
-Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. A typing test is required to fulfill this role.
-Must be able to communicate in a professional and effective manner both verbally and through written form. Strong written communication skills are required for this position.
-Must be drama free and professional
-Must have respect for the life sciences and nature.
-Must be able to follow standard operating procedures.
-Technically inclined is a plus.
-Confidence and friendliness through all mediums are a plus.
-Must be attentive to details and immediately address complications when they are observed.
-Familiarity with freshwater or saltwater aquariums is a plus.
-Familiarity with distribution and logistics is a plus since AlgaeBarn ships live goods.
-Familiarity with ecommerce customer communication is a plus.
-Small business mentality a plus.
-Great attendance and reliability are required for this role.
