Alexander Mann Solutions Hiring for Senior Accountant Job at London, England Full Time

On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Accountant for an initial 6 Month contract based in London. This is a hybrid role and can be worked with around 3 days per week from home.

Arup are an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.

Purpose of the role:

The organisation has recently gone through a restructure and this role is required to ensure the region has financial policies and processes in place that are appropriate, widely understood and clearly documented. The role holder will review and document a number of our key policies and processes so that they can be shared and understood by a financial and a non-financial audience. They will advise on areas where new or improved policies can be documented and lead, with the support of the finance network, in implementation of those policies. The role sits in the UKIMEA regional finance team but will work with other business service teams, our finance shared service centre and our global finance team.

You will make an impact in this role by:

• Reviewing and documenting key processes and controls within the management accounting environment and communicate clearly with key stakeholders.
• Identifying potential improvements, simplifications, and better alignment with other regions.
• Supporting the regional team leadership with documentation of new structure and processes.
• Participating in and documenting outcomes of process improvement workshops.
• Providing documentation and other support to ongoing finance projects.

Candidate requirements:

• A qualified chartered accountant with 2+ years post qualified experience.
• A strong communicator, able to explain complex issues clearly and concisely and build constructive relationships across the organisation.
• Have a good understanding of financial risk and controls, at both a high level and in the detail. This role is hands on and the individual will be comfortable with complexity.
• Experience of working in a large organisation and of project accounting would be beneficial.

Please note that due to recent changes in Off Payroll (IR35) legislation, our client only operates with contractors that operate via a PAYE or Umbrella model.
