Provide software design and development services to support the GOV.UK Pay team with the delivery of recurring card payments functionality. Work will involve understanding and analysing business objectives and designing and delivering software changes to meet those objectives.

The GOV.UK Pay technology stack uses Java/Dropwizard for backend microservices and Node.js/Express.js for presentation layer microservices. Security by design is a critical aspect of our work and the service provider must have experience of modern secure coding practises for internet-facing systems (eg. OWASP Top 10). Solutions must meet GOV.UK Pay’s technical, quality and security requirements.

As a Java Developer, your main responsibilities would be:

• Design and develop software solutions that allow GOV.UK Pay to support recurring card payments
• Iterate recurring card payments functionality
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer to GOV.UK Pay technical team of all software solutions developed, through documentation, code review, pair programming, presentations or other appropriate techniques
• Share expertise in software design and development with the GOV.UK Pay team

You’ll have relevant experience in:

• Design and development of software solutions
• Automated tests
• Systems analysis and design
• Secure coding practises
• Experience with OWASP 10

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
