Alexander Associates Looking for Sheq Manager at City of Glasgow Full Time

A successful design and build contractor are currently recruiting for a SHEQ Lead to head up their health and safety team.

The ideally candidate will be working on various clean and waste water projects across the Scottish  Water framework.

This is a permanent staff position.

The Role

• Responsible for managing and leading a team of SHEQ Advisors
• Advise and guide all personnel working on projects with regards to the implementation of the SHEQ policies and procedures.
• Communicate, train and engage colleagues, contractors and suppliers in all SHEQ matters.
• To work with all Managers and Staff to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed as necessary and if required to assist with their preparation.
• Support the Managers / Directors in the production, review and implementation of the relevant Project Management Plans / Construction Phase Plans and project SHEQ documentation.
•  Promoting and raising awareness across all levels of the organisation, of the impacts of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues, in terms of legal and statutory compliance and voluntary compliance, including CDM regulations
• Delivering inductions and training as required.
• Undertake regular site SHEQ inspections and assist the site teams with closing out issues that are identified during inspections and audits.
• To liaise with client representatives in order to establish good working relationships in relation to SHEQ management of sites.
•  Conduct internal audits, reviews and assessments of policies and procedures across all company sites.

The Candidate

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent / GradIOSH would be advantageous but not essential
• Experience in a SHEQ or Health & Safety Advisor within a civil engineering or M&E environment
• CSCS card
• First Aid
