Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Proposals Engineers looking for a permanent position in the Dorset area.

Our client provides engineering services to all the main water boards and seeks a Proposals Engineer to assist with the company’s bid and tendering processes amongst other duties.

Our client can offer a remote working option; however, the successful Candidate will need to attend visits to site and head office when required.

Key Duties:

Evaluate tenders/enquiries to determine the suitability of M&N/ Hydro International products/services.

Discuss technical, process “in house” aspects with Proposals, Sales, Engineering and Process Engineers as appropriate.

Contribute to technical and process evaluation, internally, through discussion and formal meetings as required.

Obtain prices for all bought-in plant and services ensuring that specifications are met for the best price possible.

Prepare estimate cost sheet in accordance with company procedures.

Prepare written quotations and all supplementary information, specifications, and technical schedules necessary, and meet deadlines required by or agreed with the client. Provide a prompt response to Customer enquiries.

Summarise and collate relevant information and documents for efficient contract handover in accordance with company procedures.

Ensure tenders & quotations are produced to deadlines required by or agreed with the client.

In consultation with the Sales department, follow up submissions and maintain customer contact until award of contract.

To keep up to date all technical and financial information within allocated Product Files as the Proposals department Product Co-ordinator.

To apply requirements of BS EN ISO9001 and 14001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.

To be responsible for the Health and Safety and Environmental aspects affecting self, employees and projects in your control.

To undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Company.

Applicant Profile

Engineering Degree, or relevant industry experience (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related)

Ability to understand and generate process design related to the company’s water and wastewater division products, with the ability to prepare and submit high quality tenders with tight turnaround times.

Understand and initiate pre-sales:- Technical, Production, Finance, Sales, Contracts, Projects and Design.

Current valid driving license.

Some traveling which may require overnight stays

Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.
