ALDI Hiring for Lease Accountant Job at New South Wales Full Time

An exciting opportunity for a Lease Accountant has become available in the Asset Accounting department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time role.

As a Lease Accountant, you will be a part of a high performing and results driven team with a focus on process, diligence, and accuracy. To be successful in this role, you will have strong stakeholder management skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and an in-depth working knowledge of accounting principles. A key aspect of this role will see you managing process improvements within the lease accounting space as a subject matter expert.

Role responsibilities:

• Be the subject matter expert in leasing transactions within the ALDI business
• Understand IFRS 16 and be able to apply these principles to real life leasing transactions
• Manage escalations within the ALDI business involving the Offshore Team i.e. communicate errors/issues with the Offshore Team, help them understand why this is an issue/error and put in place measures to prevent future occurrence
• Understand changes within the business (stakeholder/process etc.) and communicate and manage the changes with the Offshore Team
• Identify and work on continuous process improvement opportunities with the internal team

Selection criteria:

• Demonstrated experience within a lease accounting environment
• CA/CPA accreditation or equivalent from other countries or studying towards
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience in managing external stakeholder performance and deliverables
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and relationship building skills with the ability to engage across different levels of management
• The ability to manage competing deadlines and work under pressure
• Knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
• Experience in SAP is highly desirable

This role reports to the Team Leader – Finance & Administration.
