POSITION: Logistics Coordinator

LOCATION: Sioux Falls, South Dakota

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for processing paperwork required for the shipment of trailers both domestically and internationally. Ensures that paperwork is completed accurately and follows transportation and export laws. Provides coordination and administrative support to the Logistics Department and s directly to the Logistics Manager.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares invoices, warranties, and certificates of origin for scheduled shipments.
• Sends invoicing and payment terms for shipments to dealers and Alcom sales representatives one day prior to delivery.
• Submits financing requests to Wells Fargo/Northpoint for approval prior to shipments.
• Prints pick tickets for trailers and parts scheduled to ship on the following day.
• Coordinates with the parts department to schedule parts to ship with upcoming loads.
• Coordinates with the warranty department on the receipt and completion of repair units.
• Coordinates with drivers on documentation requirements related to deliveries.
• Processes customs documentation for import/export of trailers and parts.
• Updates Shipping calendar status when shipments have been scheduled and completed.
• Cross trains to perform duties in the absence of or to assist the Logistics Manager.
• Performs other administrative duties as assigned, such as filing, scanning, and copying.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A two-year college business degree is preferred, but not required. May recognize equivalent related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and accounting system experience preferred
• Two years of transportation/logistics or customer service experience required

Expectations:

– Completes all documentation for next-day shipments by the end of each day

– Updates “Load value spreadsheet” on a weekly basis

– Informs Logistics Manager and Sales Manager when accounts are overdue

– Generates purchase orders for carriers within 2 days of load confirmation

– Processes vendor payments within 1 day of receipt of invoices

– Submits financing documentation for funding within 2 days of delivery

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
