ANC is currently recruiting for the role of full-time, permanent Paper Machine Production Operator. This position is in our Operations Department and is directly involved in the manufacturing and production of paper, both using machinery and physical labour. At times, this is a physically demanding role that includes working in extreme high and low temperatures, and at heights.

Reporting to the Shift Lead, this role allows an individual to work as part of a team on a continuous shift rotation (12-hour shifts, both days/nights). It is expected that this role be available for call-ins and overtime, as required.

We are looking for safety-focused, self-driven individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Trades tickets (Electrician, Millwright, etc.) are considered valuable assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Cleaning up and tidying around the paper machine.

Take samples of newsprint.

Push rolls of newsprint and apply core tags.

Assist senior paper making staff when and as required.

Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent) is required.

A valid Driver’s License with your own transportation is required. The mill is located outside of Whitecourt; thus you must be able to commute.

Mechanical aptitude is a must.

Previous industrial manufacturing experience is a definite asset.

Having a trades ticket (Electrician, Millwright, etc.) is a strong asset.

Must have a safety-focused mindset and strong knowledge of safe work practices.

Have a sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership of your work. Be a self-starter and self-motivated to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Demonstrate effective communication with a variety of personalities and roles.

Basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

The base pay rate for this position is $71,412.24 per year with a total compensation package of approximately $92,500.00 per year, including:

Within two years, you could earn up to $97,947.84 per year base pay with a total compensation package of approximately $127,500.00 per year.
