Sample Receptionist
InnoTech Alberta is seeking a Sample Receptionist to work with our Chemical Testing Team. This job is based in Vegreville, Alberta.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
Log incoming samples, client and data information into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software.
Confirm receipt and status of samples with clients.
Ensure samples are adequate for required analysis and document any contamination or deficiencies.
Catalogue, store and distribute to appropriate person/laboratory for analysis.
Maintain sample inventory and disposal records.
Liaise with transport companies regarding incoming and outgoing samples.
Prepare samples for expedition into the laboratory; may include pouring off, filtering and/or preserving the sample when necessary.
Maintain reception room organization and cleanliness (general housekeeping).
Assist in generating safe administrative work procedures, responding to and implementing changes as prescribed by the Quality Officer.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma; Post-Secondary Diploma in Chemical Technology or related field is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively
Attention to detail
Ability to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner
Strong verbal, written, listening, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift up to 10 kg
Adaptable and flexible to changing work environments
Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Critical thinking ability
