Your Opportunity:
As a Stores I working various shifts, you will be assigned multiple tasks which includes receiving hospital supplies, materials, equipment, and/or food items; checking inventory received from vendors, transferring received supplies from staging areas to their assigned storage location and entering orders into the computer system while verifying items are received and distributed; and coordinate delivery of orders to end users, obtaining the appropriate sign off. Other duties include checking and replenishing supplies using hand held technology and/or manual processes as required in accordance with preset quantities and top up schedule, check and rotate supplies as required to minimize out-dates and assist in checking and adjusting quotas to accurately reflect usage.

Description:
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with AHS guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicates frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantity of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be able to push and pull heavy stock carts weighing up to 400kgs, and to be able to stand and walk for the duration of your shift and perform repetitive physical movements. This individual may be required to drive an electric powered pallet jack in a safe and courteous manner, in hospital hallways where foot traffic of public and hospital staff is common. Also, the successful candidate will inspect carts and equipment to identify safety issues or possible defects. A minimum 2 years’ experience with competence in a computerized environment is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Being familiar with the physical layout of Chinook Regional Hospital, product material handling in a hospital setting and previous WHMIS and TDG training will be considered an asset. Having an understanding of inventory processes and software will benefit the successful candidate.
