Working under minimal supervision, this position provides virtual, high level of professional, well-organized support to Post-Secondary Institutions, AHS student placement destination coordinators, AHS stakeholders and the Student Placement Team. The position requires the incumbent to use initiative and independent judgement to support a team managing students engaged in practice education experiences across the province of Alberta. Daily activities include, but are not limited to, virtual communication with individual or groups, attending meetings, providing education and training to partners, problem solving, drafting a variety of business documents (e.g. process and workflow changes, quarterly and adhoc reports, communications), maintaining processes and databases and ensuring adherence to workflow and appropriate applications of systems. Daily collaboration with team members to meet objectives in a pressured environment with changing priorities, new projects and meeting placement timelines, is expected. The workload will also include involvement in Connect Care implementation and student access.
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:
5 years’ experience in an intermediate or higher administrative support role, preferably in a Health care setting. Advanced understanding of MS Office (Outlook, Lync, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.). Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and effectively prioritize workload during periods of intense activities. Proven critical thinking skills, time management and organizational skills, and ability to multi-task under pressure. Excellent interpersonal, communication both written and verbal, and analytical skills. Must demonstrate attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times. Must be able to exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in HSPnet required, proficiency preferred. Knowledge of hospital systems. Customer service experience. Knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
