Job Summary:

As the Manager, Technology Education, you will provide management, oversight, development and facilitation of the education team in the implementation and support of IS system projects. You will develop the strategy and provides support for the roll-out of technology education to end users in hospitals, ancillary departments, physicians and physician clinics.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests way to develop skills; monitors workflow.
• Designs, implements and oversees the IT Technology Education team to align with current and future IS training platforms.
• Identifies areas of improvement in training and take necessary steps to enhance the learning experience of trainees.
• Creates innovative education and improves the education experience with measurable success metrics which are regularly reported to other teams and leadership.
• Develops and executes an initial and ongoing credentialed trainer program.
• Studies end-user habits and funnels struggling end users through advanced learning programs to become better more efficient users.
• Works with HR, IT access, and security, provider credentialing teams designate appropriate training and subsequent access are delivered to the right end-users.
• Creates alternate learning environments when needed such as provider efficiency programs, on-line training, refresher education and specialty classes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, information technology, training/education, computer science, or related area.

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in healthcare, information technology, training/education, computer science, or related area.

Required Experience: Seven years’ experience within an IT environment; five years management experience; experience presenting, communicating, influencing and partnering with executive level and department leadership with regard to technology education strategies and support; experience and proven success in effectively leading and supervising a training team and managing the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with an integrated delivery network; expertise in instructional design, including virtual and online courses, as well as experience educating clinical, professional, and administrative personnel in acute and outpatient environments experience leading application administration and infrastructure review in IS environments; EMR/IS training and training management experience.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Epic certification.
