Akari Care Hiring for Sales Ledger Clerk – Leeds Support Office Job at Leeds, England Full Time

Akari Care have 35 Residential and Nursing Care Homes across the UK, with the largest concentration of homes in the north-east.

An opportunity has arisen to join Akari Care’s finance team, as a Sales Ledger Clerk at our Leeds Support Centre, based in Leeds city centre.

The Sales Ledger Clerk will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of self-funding and local government authority resident accounts. The Sales Ledger Clerk will also work closely with Akari’s home managers and administrators to ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly invoicing.

Previous experience of working within social/health care business would be advantageous but is not necessarily a pre-requisite for this role.

Job Title: Sales Ledger Clerk

Reporting to: Sales Ledger Supervisor

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Proven accounting skills: raising accurate invoices and credit notes

• Implementing client contribution & LA/CCG fee amendments

• Liaising with Local Authorities and CCGs regarding client fee amendments

• Completing Local Authority payment schedules/returns for payment

• Intricate Account reconciliations

• Checks including Nominal Codes, Account Codes, Billing Calendars, Home Changes

• Dealing with client queries via telephone and email

• Raising and rectifying any anomalies within accounts

• Establishing good working relationships with our Care Homes and professional bodies

• Ensuring confidentiality in line with GDPR

Person Specification:

• Previous experience within a Sales Ledger environment is desirable, but not essential

• Ability to communicate appropriately and sensitively whilst maintaining confidentiality

• Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature

• Great verbal and written communication skills

• Solid team working skills and ability to work on own initiative

• Experience in Excel, Microsoft Office packages and Sage 200
