POSITION PURPOSE You will play a crucial role in the venture capital ecosystem by contributing to due diligence processes, conducting market research, and participating in comprehensive portfolio reviews.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• We seek highly motivated MBA students passionate about deep tech and venture capital. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a keen interest in climate technologies and/or the semiconductor space.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to start June 1, internship will run a period of 10 weeks
• Market research abilities
• An understanding of financial modeling and valuation exercises
• An understanding of the start up eco system and how venture capital operates
• Experience with CRM tools (ideally Affinity)
• PHD or scientific background in life science or semiconductor (not necessary but a plus)

OCCUPATIONAL DEMANDS This position is primarily office work at both a standing desk or traditional desk with a computer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interns at Ajinomoto Ventures will be immersed in the multifaceted world of venture capital. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, analyzing market trends, and assisting in the assessment of our existing portfolio companies. We use Pitchbook as well as Affinity CRM to review our pipelines.
• Special Projects
• Overview of the gene and cell therapy start up investment landscape
• M&A opportunities in the semiconductor space in the past 5 years
• Due Diligence checklist reviews on two live deals that will be conducted Summer 2024

The budgeted range for this role is $25/hour – estimated to $10k across the length of this ten week internship
