Job Description
An Aircraft Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing aircraft systems and components to ensure safe and efficient aircraft operations. The technician works on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionics systems according to aviation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Aircraft Technicians perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot technical faults, replace defective parts, and certify aircraft readiness for flight under the supervision of licensed engineers when required.
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Inspection & Maintenance
Perform routine and scheduled aircraft maintenance checks.
Inspect aircraft structures, engines, landing gear, and control systems.
Conduct pre-flight, transit, daily, weekly, and periodic inspections.
Identify defects, malfunctions, and mechanical issues.
Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnose technical and mechanical faults in aircraft systems.
Repair or replace damaged aircraft components and parts.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical, and engine systems.
Use specialized testing and diagnostic equipment.
Component Installation
Install aircraft parts, instruments, wiring, and assemblies.
Remove and replace aircraft engines or system components when required.
Ensure all installations comply with aviation safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and technical records.
Complete inspection reports and work orders.
Record all repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with aviation authority regulations.
Safety Compliance
Follow aviation safety procedures and maintenance manuals.
Adhere to company policies and international aviation regulations.
Ensure tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Team Coordination
Work closely with Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, pilots, and ground staff.
Coordinate with technical supervisors and quality assurance teams.
Assist during aircraft turnaround operations.

Educational Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) certification preferred
DGCA/FAA/EASA-approved training is an advantage
Technical vocational training in aviation maintenance may also be accepted
Experience Requirements
Fresher
Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures
Internship or training experience preferred
Experienced Technician
1-5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
Experience on commercial or private aircraft
Familiarity with aviation maintenance software and tools
Certifications Preferred
DGCA AME License
FAA A&P License
EASA Part-66 License

Salary Range (Approx.)
India
Fresher: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month
Experienced: ₹40,000 – ₹1,20,000+ per month
