The Hydrogen for Mobility Operations Technician is responsible for operating, driving, and maintaining Air Products’ Hydrogen Fueling equipment to support mobile and permanent fueling applications in the Edmonton and Calgary areas. Equipment includes mobile liquid and gaseous hydrogen trailers, and temporary fueling stations. Future operations will include permanent fueling stations.

The Hydrogen for Mobility Operation Technician will be required to gain an understanding of the technical aspects of the H2fM system, including, but not limited to, hydrogen production, distribution, storage, and dispensing technology and equipment that serves the market.

The successful candidate will be provided with tools to service and operate Hydrogen gas and liquid systems at our customer sites. The systems include pressure vessels, vaporizers, flow, level and pressure control instrumentation, dispensers, pumps, PLC, and compressors. Successful candidate will be responsible to provide necessary technical and hands-on support for maintenance and installation of Hydrogen fueling systems. Thus, the technician needs to be highly self-motivated, safety-focused, and a good communicator as the role involves direct interface with Air Products customers.

The Hydrogen for Mobility Operation Technician will be required to demonstrate extremely high standards of safety performance and professional demeanor. Hydrogen safety is the top priority, and operational discipline is critical to meeting our safety commitment. This individual is also customer-facing and will be regularly interfacing with customers as maintenance issues occur. Candidates must demonstrate confidence, professionalism, and a strong safety and process focus.

Qualifications:

• 3 years+ mechanical experiences with Technical Degree in Process or Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, Electrical Power and Controls, Electromechanical Technology, HVAC will be considered for this role.
• Valid class 1 commercial driver license with 3 years tractor-trailer driving experience
• Tanker/dangerous goods experience preferred
• 3 years violation free abstract
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customers oriented
• Demonstrate safe work practices and adherence to procedures/work processes
• Self-motivated and demonstrates ability to work independently.

• Good computer skills – Microsoft Office
• Demonstrate and practice safe handling of tools including power tools typically and commonly used for installation and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings and electrical controls schematics
• Exposure in maintaining electronic controls, pneumatic systems, pumps, pressure vessels, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors is preferred
• PLC, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting are a plus
• Some electrical experience either via on-the-job training or some type of schooling is a plus.
• Rotational on call schedule (24/7) and work flexible schedules will be expected
