Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Financial Analyst at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, PA. The Financial Analyst is in a critical position in IG-Americas Business Decision Support (BDS), providing essential analysis and decision support to the Industrial Gases Americas North Subregion management team. The position is aligned to support the Gen Gas business team. The Gen Gas business is one of the strategic growth levers for the North Subregion. The Gen Gas business supplies on-site oxygen and nitrogen generation to customers in major segments across the region (metals, mining, food and beverage, glass, and more).

The Financial Analyst will report to the Subregion Controller and directly support the business team. This person will be primarily responsible for investment analysis of new deals, which will require strong cash flow modeling abilities. These deals are capital intensive and require a strong financial partner to help guide the business in pricing and decision-making. Additionally, this role will require foundational accounting knowledge related to depreciation, asset retirement obligations, accounts receivable, and credit risk mitigation strategies. In this role, the financial analyst will be an active participant in driving the closure of strategic deals, productivity actions, and managing projects as well as providing oversight to ensure all standards are adhered to and the proper financial controls are in place. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills, proficiency in operational and cash flow project analysis, and comfort navigating Air Products’ financial systems and tools. This position will provide and require interactions and communication with all levels of the management team and candidates should have the ability to develop and leverage relationships outside of the Business Decision Support (BDS) organization.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Cash flow modeling
• Capital forecasting
• Capital funding request (Expenditure Authorization Request)
• Partner with the commercial and operation team to execute business strategy
• Provide analytical support and business advice to enable better decision making
• Perform analysis and provide recommendations for assessments of new and existing business opportunities
• Complete month-end close operational analysis of the asset portfolio including understanding results, identifying major factors, and translating the data into important, concise, and actionable information
• Coordinate and support the development of the annual operating plan

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (MBA preferred) with 5-7 years of related experience in finance
• Advanced excel skills
• Expert Cash flow modeling abilities
• Sound technical business writing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results as agreed to
• Effective interpersonal, leadership, communication, and influencing skills
• Knowledge of SAP is necessary for success, with functional knowledge and the ability to extract data from SAP R3, Analysis, and BPC
